Many cooperatives still rely on manual recording systems, resulting in low efficiency, high risk of errors, and limited access to real-time information. This study analyzes the application of computer-based management information systems in the decision-making process at the AMIK Universal Cooperative. The cooperative, which serves students, lecturers, and staff, faces challenges in member data management, savings and loan transactions, and financial reporting that are still done conventionally. This research employs a qualitative case study approach involving in-depth interviews with cooperative managers, system users, and staff. The results show that the application of MIS has improved data management efficiency by 50%, reduced recording errors, and accelerated report preparation by up to 65% compared to manual methods (Khairul et al., 2025). The main success factors include management commitment, user training, and system alignment with business needs. Challenges identified include technological literacy gaps among users and system maintenance costs. This study concludes that computer-based MIS is not just an administrative tool but a strategic instrument for improving the quality and speed of decision-making in cooperatives.

However, e-commerce adoption among MSMEs remains uneven, particularly in Medan City, where many business owners have not fully utilized digital platforms for marketing and transactions. This study analyzes the factors influencing e-commerce adoption among culinary MSMEs in Medan City using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A quantitative approach was employed with a sample of 52 culinary MSME owners selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward using, and behavioral intention to use simultaneously have a significant influence on MSME performance, with an R² value of 0.628 indicating that 62.8% of the variation in MSME performance is explained by these four variables. Perceived usefulness has the most dominant influence with a regression coefficient of 0.284. The TAM framework effectively explains the adoption behavior of culinary MSMEs in the digital era. These findings provide practical implications for policymakers, platform developers, and business owners in accelerating digital adoption among MSMEs.

One of the fundamental techniques in data processing is sorting, which organizes data in a specific order to facilitate searching, reporting, and analysis. This study compares the performance of three sorting algorithms—Bubble Sort, Merge Sort, and Quick Sort—in the context of management information system data processing. The research employs a qualitative approach by analyzing the time complexity and space complexity of each algorithm using mathematical analysis and simulation with sample datasets. The results show that Quick Sort has the best average-case performance with O(n log n) time complexity, making it suitable for large-scale data processing in management information systems. Merge Sort offers consistent performance regardless of initial data conditions with O(n log n) time complexity, while Bubble Sort has the highest time complexity of O(n²), making it less efficient for large datasets. The analysis concludes that algorithm selection significantly impacts the performance of management information systems in processing academic, financial, and administrative data.

Conventional supervision methods are unable to effectively detect indications of contract cheating, so a web-based monitoring system is needed to support the supervision process. This study aims to design and build a web-based thesis monitoring system that can detect indications of thesis writing services among Management Informatics students at AMIK Universal. The system was developed using the Waterfall methodology, consisting of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system features a digital logbook, progress monitoring, plagiarism detection integration, authenticity analysis based on writing patterns, automatic notifications, and a lecturer dashboard. Data were collected through interviews with 5 lecturers and 10 students, observation, and documentation. Testing was conducted using Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with 30 respondents. The results show that the system successfully monitors thesis progress in real-time, detects indications of contract cheating with 85% accuracy, and increases lecturer supervision efficiency by 65%. The UAT results show a user satisfaction score of 4.32 (very good category). This study concludes that the web-based monitoring system is effective in detecting indications of thesis writing services and can be implemented in higher education institutions to strengthen academic integrity.
