Analisis Penerapan Sistem Informasi Manajemen Bisnis (SIMB) Dalam Meningkatkan Efisiensi Operasional UMKM di Era Transformasi Digital

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the Indonesian economy, contributing 61% to the national GDP and absorbing 97% of the workforce. However, many MSMEs still face significant operational challenges due to manual recording systems, lack of data integration, and limited access to real-time business information. This research analyzes the implementation of Business Management Information Systems (BMIS) in improving MSME operational efficiency in the digital transformation era. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with case studies on 5 MSMEs in Medan City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that BMIS implementation significantly reduces transaction recording time from 1-2 hours to 15-30 minutes per day, improves inventory control accuracy by up to 40%, and enables real-time access to business information. The main challenges identified include low digital literacy, limited infrastructure, and implementation costs. This research concludes that BMIS is not only an administrative tool but also a strategic instrument in MSME digital transformation to enhance competitiveness in the digital era
