Pelatihan Pembuatan dan Pengelolaan Website Desa Sebagai Peningkatan Transparansi Informasi Publik Desa Suka Maju Kecamatan Medan Johor
Abstract
The development of information technology has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including in village governance. Village websites have become an important instrument in realizing transparency and accountability of public information, as mandated by Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. However, many villages still face obstacles in developing and managing village websites due to limited human resource capacity and understanding of information technology. This community service activity aims to provide training on the creation and management of village websites as an effort to improve public information transparency in Suka Maju Village, Medan Johor District. The activity was conducted in four stages: preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation, involving 20 participants consisting of village officials and community representatives. The training was delivered through presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on practice using the WordPress CMS platform. The evaluation results showed that participants' understanding increased significantly, with an average pre-test score of 40.2 and a post-test score of 84.5, representing a 110% improvement. Participant satisfaction with the training reached 4.35 on a 5-point Likert scale (very good category). The activity also succeeded in producing a functional village website that can be used to disseminate public information. This activity concludes that training and mentoring on village website creation and management are effective in improving public information transparency and can be implemented in other villages.
